What's new in the TFS Release Candidate?

For the second time in the last few days Jeff Beehler is the bearer of good news: his blog entry “What's new in the TFS Release Candidate?” is full of functionalities long awaited for.
To name some of them:
  • Friendly name support for Work Items “…we made a switch to use the Active Directory ‘friendly name’…

  • Upgrade utility “…We have detailed specs on these tools on the Team Foundation blog.

  • Improved error detection within Setup “…Installing on a Domain Controller is now completely blocked…

  • Admin tools – among other things “…server migrations (moving between servers, changing from single -> dual server, from workgroup -> domain, etc).” Sounds familiar? :-)

  • CMMI Methodology: “…We think they’re now ready for prime time.”

  • and of course lots of Bug fixes.
