[VSTS] TFS and file sharing

For all those that miss the sharing functionality from Source Safe in the Team Foundation Server’s version control system, a possible solution has arrived - TFSLinks by ComponentSoftware Inc.:

“The TFSLinks product maintains the relations between shared files and automatically updates all instances whenever a new revision is checked-in to any copy of the shared file.”

Although there are good reasons not to use sharing (see here and here), the habits developed during the long years of Source Safe-ing are certainly strong, and many people think that they can’t live without it. Until now, it has been a difficult choice for them, either to share or to use TFS, but not both at the same time. Well, if sharing is obligatory it doesn’t mean good bye to TFS anymore.
